Fall greetings to you! Okay, it’s not officially fall yet, but almost.
As you may have guessed by the post heading, we have decided that artificial insemination is just not going to work for us in our breeding program right now, and storage space is very limited so…we’re selling all our ai equipment including our XC 20 signature 660 straw tank with a 20 week hold time!
About the semen tank
We purchased the semen tank new from semen tanks website and have been very pleased with it.
It has been stored indoors, setting in its cardboard shipping box for added protection. It only came out of the box to be filled with nitrogen every 3-4 months. It is in excellent, like-new condition! Still have the instruction book it came with and it’s original shipping box.
As the value for this tank has increased since 2021, you can now purchase one new for $699 through Semen Tanks(see it here).We initially paid $670 including shipping costs on a sale purchase. In light of its current value, we are asking for our full original investment cost of $670, which is still a bargain to the buyer at the market value of this tank today.
It currently has nitrogen in it, and Nigerian Dwarf semen(keep reading for more about the semen below).
I purchased a special black colored semen tank measure stick for just under $10, it comes with the tank for $5 (can’t sell separately, $675 total)

Ai kit from Biogenics LLC
We have the KBH703D HI-BRED digital kit. You can view their kits here. We liked the digital thermometer version. This kit sells for $194.50; in 2021 we paid $190 + shipping totaling $220.
One thing you should know about the kit carry-case is that it has a defective closure clamp on the right side, so you can’t carry it by the handle or it may pop open. They did reimburse me for this, so I will allow a $40 decrease in my asking price. I will throw in my additional items purchased that did not come in the kit; sheaths, sanitary sheath protectors, a glass speculum I special ordered from Sir Echo Farm(and I preferred it over the Biogenics speculum) as well as a different tube of OB lube that is non -spermicidal (the one in the kit does not say non-spermicidal which could be a problem)

I have listed the items individually to give you an idea of their value, but we are selling it all together for $200, including the two books shown below. We can’t sell bits and pieces for the sake of time and sanity!
This is a great bargain for anyone wanting to start out with everything you need and save some money on equipment. Everything is lightly used and basically in like-new condition, used only for one breeding season on just two goats. Stored indoors, not a barn.

Update** semen is spoken for
We originally purchased some exceptional Nigerian Dwarf semen from notable herds across the country and you can view the bucks in the tank on our buck page.
Unfortunately, since we had a situation when the tank got a bit neglected and ran VERY low of nitrogen (below 4cm) we are not confident enough in its viability to sell it. Therefore, unless we make prior arrangements for this questionable semen, we may offer to send it along with the purchaser of the tank if they so desire.
Also, after we had purchased the semen and had it shipped to us, and it was home safe, we got an email from the supplier that one of the buck’s collection was believed to be compromised and they had plans to replace my 5 purchased straws with a new collection, however this was never accomplished so the “believed to be compromised” straws are still in my tank: This was CH Winning Streak Molded Rose. I respect the collector’s honesty in this situation.
Semen originally put in the tank shown on receipts below. A few straws were used, I’ll have to check my records on which bucks those were.
