Krebs Farm recently announced that our previous herdsire’s maternal sister made the ADGA Elite list this year. What does elite mean?
According to her CDCB data she milked 5.9 lbs at 30 days in milk and 4.1 lbs at 58 days in milk.
We currently have just one retained daughter from our Krebs buck, and she will be freshening as a two year old first freshener spring of 2025 bred to Tua Farm RMI Crescendo(polled buck). Misty pictured below

Doe rehomed

We rehomed Belle as an unregistered family pet. She had the genetics, but not the look we are going for. We just weren’t impressed by her general appearance and slow growth rate. To maintain a small & high quality herd, we try to keep only the goats that we enjoy looking at, and that we believe will perform well for us and help us reach our goals. Some goats just don’t turn out the way we hoped.
Herd health

All goats that were due got a copper bolus and a dose of selenium and vitamin E to be in their best health possible pre-breeding in October. The bucks also got their supplements and up to date hoof trims.
Breeding season is now over for us and we hope that we have three pregnant does. Fingers crossed no one comes into heat again. 🤞🏻We decided not to breed Cloudy this year; she gets to just hang around and be her sweet self until we find a good pet home for her.
Printable record sheets

We created these spreadsheets to keep track of our goat health records, farm management, expenses, etc.
If you’d like to print them for yourself, you’ll find the link below. It’s free!
Milk Testing
I did just one milk test this year. We weren’t able to begin milking early enough to encourage productive lactations. Management plays such a key role in their performance and we just weren’t able to be on top of things as we’d like to have been.
Below is the completed lactation record for each doe we had on test this year. It includes their lifetime totals from all their previous lactations at the bottom as well.
