BUCKS

Krebs LG Buckskin 1/2024

Buck selection is so important. Knowing how great an impact a buck can have on herd genetics, we carefully study pedigrees, relatives and performance records when considering a buck as a herd Sire, and focus heavily on the dam lines. We are not buck hoarders; every buck we have is intentionally selected for certain traits that we feel will compliment our does and bring in improvements where needed.

Bucks owned by Aspen Leaf Dairy Goats

*None at this time

We take biosecurity seriously and generally will not introduce animals from untested herds into ours, though we may make exceptions when we are confident there are no health risks to our herd. We generally don’t offer buck services(exception below).

In the case that a 4-H member buys their first goats from us and does not introduce or already have other goats, sheep or cows from other farms on their property before the time of breeding and they practice careful biosecurity measures we may offer breeding services. If you do not meet this criteria, we will alternatively offer you a 4-h discount on the purchase of a buckling if one is available. We will occasionally offer buck services to customers who fit the same criteria as mentioned above.

Better Wayz Augustus We’re reaching for production potential with this buck from Better Wayz farm, home of many SG and Elite does. Gus’s dam Harmony was the 2020 breed leader for butterfat production; See below. Photo courtesy of Bella Fattoria Farm
Hidden Palms L Blue Lotus *B This star buck has championed in show, but has not earned his permanent championship. I think he should add a lot of potential for outstanding production & gorgeous udders without sacrificing conformation. Sons will qualify for their *B, if their dam is also a *M doe.

CH Winning Streak Molded Rose We couldn’t help but grab some semen out of this Champion buck from the notable Winning Streak Nigerians to try and seal the deal on conformation, and add a little splash of color with moonspotting as well.

Old Mountain Farm Smart Alec We hope to bring in some of the upstandingness and style we see so consistently in the notable Old Mountain Farm herd. His sire Old Mountain Farm All-Over-It appraised EEE 91 at 3 years & 4 months. Old Mountain Farm says, “Allie participated in his first three shows, all in one weekend and left as a finished champion.” Polled(naturally hornless) kids possible

Agape’s Prize Lennzipp CQuinn *B We snatched up an opportunity to introduce more show quality into our herd, hoping for more conformation and udder improvements with this buck who’s dam and sire both are Old Mountain Farm. His dam Zipper is a finished Champion, and his sire was ADGA 2018 1st Place Get of Sire. Sons will qualify for their *B, if their dam is also a *M doe.
