Milk test?
I renewed my DHIA Certification with WA DHIA for 2026, though I’m still undecided whether we’ll be doing any testing this year…we’ll see. Trying to keep costs down, especially costs without much return on the investment, but I do like having the milk test information.
ADGA’s e-mail in late Dec 2025 was encouraging. It said they will be awarding milk stars in 2026. I’m still hopeful that my herd matriarch doe will at long last be awarded her 5*M, earned as a first freshener in 2021-2022. We have three daughters and one granddaughter of hers in the herd, so essentially all of our goats are descendants of hers. It would be neat to see these young does have the opportunity to earn their 6th generation stars.
Appraisal score
Walsh Kids VV Guinevere, owned by Goat Forest Farm, appraised EEEV 91 as an 8 year old doe in 2025! She is the dam of our previous herd-sire, Round Mountain MQ Kedar Quinn. We sold Kedar in 2025, but still have two of his lovely daughters in the herd Dusty & Jewel who will be kidding soon as first freshening two year olds.

Kidding soon
Our two does are expected to kid at earliest May 8th, but I’m guessing we’ll see kids around mid May. If you’re interested in any kids, please join our wait list to get updates on kiddings and also qualify for a 10% discount on a potential goat purchase.
